Let's start from the top. All of Airship's emails are based on templates. You will have these branded templates on your account from when you got up and running with Airship. These templates dictate the colours, fonts, spacing and the overall look of your emails. All these templates are made up of a series of blocks. A block could be just an image, just some text, an image with text and a button all together, an image on the left with text on the right. It's these blocks that you can manage to adapt your email to suit the content you're putting in.

First, show the blocks
When you first look at your email in the builder, it's one long email with all the blocks in your template. In order to identify and manage the different blocks, click Show blocks.

You'll then see all of the blocks have a border around them, and at the top of each block you'll see controls available to you for the block.

We'll run through what each of the controls does.

Delete block

This will remove the whole block, and all its current content, from the email. If you cannot remove it, it'll be because this block has been set to always show when your templates was created.

Duplicate block

This will add an identical block below the current one, including all the content.

Add section

This will add another content section within the same block. If you find you cannot add any more sections, it'll be because you have reached the section limit for that block in that template.

Remove section

This will remove a content section within the same block. If you find you cannot remove any more sections, it'll be because you have reached the section limit for that block in that template.

Move block up

This moves the entire block up the email.

Move block down

This moves the entire down up the email.

Adding blocks

Click the button above to show the library of blocks that are available for you to use. The blocks that are shown here are the blocks that are available to use on your template, so these blocks may be different depending which template you are currently using.

Select the block you wish to add.

Your new block will appear above the block you've come from, and you can now control that block in the same way as any other block.
