Why do you need a hosting domain?
Setting up your hosting domain is an important part of the Airship onboarding process. Once your hosting domain is created we will use this for any images used for your templates, unique code mechanics, landing pages, and any other mechanics you may need.
When your customers view any of these mechanics they will see your own branded domain within the URL rather than our standard Airship domain, this will help your email deliverability as well as keeping in line with your brand. This would like something like the below:
How to set up your hosting domain
You will need create an ‘A record’ for your primary domain, which will point to Airship’s server. The Airship A record IP address to use is:
To set this up:
- Log into the administrative console for your domain name (ie. 123-reg, 1&1, Easily, GoDaddy).
- Locate the page which allows the domain's DNS records to be updated. In some cases this is hidden behind an “advanced settings” section.
- Once you have found the DNS settings, create a new ‘A record’ containing the text below:
content.[insertyourdomainname.com] - 184.108.40.206
